Education: There are five public elementary schools, two public middle schools and two public high schools. The Yavapai College extension facility (the main campus is located in Prescott) offers Associate Degrees, University Transfer (to Northern Arizona University), professional and technical programs and development with more than 75 areas of study. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University is the world’s largest university specializing in aviation and aerospace education with 1,500 students seeking Bachelor’s Degrees in aeronautical science, aerospace, electrical and computer engineering. North Central University, a regionally accredited distance-learning institution, offers bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs in business, education and psychology. Medical: The medical community provides primary care physicians, specialty health care providers, dentists, optometrists and chiropractors. The Prescott Valley Primary & Urgent Care Clinic provides family care and occupational medical services seven days a week. Yavapai Regional Medical Center is a new regional hospital that includes 24-hour emergency care, an intensive care unit, surgical suites, labor and delivery rooms, laboratory, imaging and outpatient services. West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, a private not-for-profit community mental health center, provides programs such as 24-hour crisis intervention for adults and children, other children’s and family services, and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment for individuals with serious mental illness. West Yavapai Guidance Clinic is the Yavapai County’s only inpatient, psychiatric stabilization unit and residential drug treatment program for publicly funded clients. There are also the Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System Center – a 150-bed and a 60-bed VA nursing home care unit, and the Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital (the only freestanding acute rehabilitation hospital serving all of central and northern Arizona) designed specifically for specialized rehabilitative care. Media: Prescott Valley has local media coverage including Prescott Valley's own semi-weekly newspaper, The Prescott Valley Tribune. Daily newspapers include The Prescott Daily Courier and The Arizona Republic. There are nine local radio stations. Local television stations include Prescott Valley Community Access TV and KUSK-TV in Prescott. Television coverage is provided via cable service. Governmental: The Town of Prescott Valley is governed by a mayor, six council members, and a town manager. There is a local police department and a fire department with both full-time and volunteer personnel. Lodging and Meeting Facilities: There are three motels in the area with over 170 rooms, and numerous motels are available in Prescott Valley.
