CAVAN REAL ESTATE INVESTMENTS TO RAISE $1 MILLION FOR SRI LANKA CHILDREN VICTIMS OF TSUNAMI

Feb. 18-19 Golf Tournament at Sedona's Seven Canyons Will Assist Mission of Mercy Organization to Aid Young Victims of Tragedy

Scottsdale, AZ Dave Cavan, president of Cavan Real Estate Investments, today announced he is looking for 50 golfers to donate a minimum of $20,000 each to play in a golf tournament that will raise $1 million for young Sri Lanka children impacted by last month's deadly tsunami.

The Hope for Children Golf Tournament will be played on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18-19 at the exclusive club at Seven Canyons in Sedona, according to Cavan. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Mission of Mercy, a Christian relief and development agency that has been working in Sri Lanka since 1998 on 37 projects that profoundly touch the lives of more than 3,000 children.

"Many of us are still numb from the shock of seeing the coverage of the devastation and loss of life in Southeast Asia," Cavan said, "and we are asking ourselves how we can help. I am calling on some of our closest business associates and community leaders to participate in this tournament that will see one-hundred percent of the proceeds go to assist the children in Sri Lanka whose lives have been shattered by this horrific event."

Tournament to Raise $1 Million for Sri Lanka Children Cavan said his goal is to attract 50 players willing to donate $20,000 each to play in the event, resulting in a donation of $1 million to the Sri Lanka survivors. All donations are tax deductible and should be made out to the Mission of Mercy. With more than 50,000 reported casualties in Sri Lanka alone, the Ministry of Social Services in Sri Lanka has requested the Mission of Mercy to offer refuge for thousands of orphaned children.

Reliable reports from Sri Lanka indicate that nine of the Mission of Mercy's projects in Sri Lanka have been either completely destroyed or severely damaged from the tsunami. It has been confirmed that 92 children in Mission of Mercy projects in Sri Lanka have been killed, with the number expected to rise.

"My wife, Karen, and I have been personally involved in supporting the Mission of Mercy for eight years," Cavan said. "We have traveled with them throughout eastern Asia to view their projects, and I have arranged with Mission of Mercy that every dollar raised from the tournament will go directly to the children of Sri Lanka and will not have an administrative carve out."

The Mission of Mercy was founded in 1954 in Calcutta, India and has expanded to 21 countries on four continents and reaches more than 75,000 children.
