GOLFWEEK NAMES SEVEN CANYONS COUNTRY'S FIFTH BEST NEW GOLF COURSE FOR 2004-2005
New Sedona Club Continues to Claim Accolades
SEDONA, ARIZ. - Adding to its rapidly growing list of accolades, Seven Canyons has been named the fifth best new golf course in America that opened during 2003-2004, according to Golfweek Magazine.
Late last year, the golf course at Seven Canyons was selected as one of the best new golf courses in the entire world by Golfer Magazine, and was named as one of America's Top 10 New Private Courses by Golf Digest Magazine early in 2004.
The latest honor came as a result of the golf course being visited and adjudicated by Golfweek's panel of course raters that annually compiles the publication's list of "America's Best" modern and classic golf courses.
Bradley S. Klein, a senior writer for Golfweek and an expert on golf course design, wrote: "The Man Upstairs created the powerful imagery that makes Seven Canyons in Sedona, Ariz., so memorable. The 6,746-yard, par-70 layout calls for thoughtful lay ups off many tees. You can be forgiven if you overlook the strategic subtleties of the place, because at 4,500 feet above sea level in the red rocks region bordering Coconino National Forest, Seven Canyons is one of the most visually overpowering courses to be found anywhere in the world."
Seven Canyons was the top rated Arizona course, according to the panel of experts.
